Siemens supports the brewing industry in Mexico

Mexico, Dec. 15 (Notimex) .- The implementation of the industry 4.0 model by the multinational Siemens has contributed to Mexico being among the four major beer producers in the world, with more than 110 million hectoliters per year. An example of this is the automation that the German company implemented in the Nava plant of Constellation Brands in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, where the most emblematic beers are produced, such as Corona, Modelo, Victoria and Pacífico, said Bruce Jacobson. The Chief Commercial Officer of Constellation Brands commented that this plant will soon reach about 27.5 million hectoliters of beer per year, triple the amount produced four years ago, when it was acquired by the US consortium. The plant introduced Siemens robotic automations that support more expeditious production, said Raj Batra, president of Digital Factory Division of Siemens. Another example is the state-of-the-art process control system Braumat from Siemens, which plays an important role in the brewing and beverage industry worldwide, since it offers complete performance with maximum flexibility. With this, the quality of the beer is taken care of, because through a standardized production and graphics of automated processes, the system complies with the international standard ISA-88 and simplifies the production. Batra said that the brewing tradition in Mexico is one of the most important worldwide and brands like Corona are recognized and consumed in many countries for their quality.
