Mexico and the US review agenda to prevent financial crime

Mexico, Dec. 15 (Notimex) .- Mexico and the United States reviewed the work agenda between the two countries regarding the prevention of operations with resources of illegal origin and financing of terrorism, informed the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP, for its acronym in Spanish). The federal agency reported that under this motive, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Vanessa Rubio Márquez, met with the Deputy Secretary for the Fight against Terrorist Financing of the United States Department of the Treasury, Marshall Billingslea. During the meeting, the federal official highlighted the actions carried out by the Mexican authorities to strengthen the fight against financial crimes, in close collaboration and exchange of information with different US authorities. Rubio Márquez reiterated the importance of continuing bilateral collaboration, in both the public and private sectors to identify trends, priorities, strategies and macro prudential measures that can contribute to mitigate risks and combat financial crime, added in a brief statement.
